UPDATED 16th May 2020

Here at Glamping at Preston Court, the health and safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority. We recognise that the situation is potentially unsettling and we would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the developing situation.

This information is subject to change

For now, and unless otherwise advised, Glamping at Preston Court will begin the 2020 season a little later than originally planned, on 4th July. Holidays are a chance to escape day to day life and are important for health and well-being. The open spaces, natural surroundings and fresh air of the Kentish countryside is just what many of us need. We are taking the advice of medical professionals, the government and governing bodies seriously and alongside this believe we have a duty of care to our guests, our local community and our team.

Glamping and Camping holidays are not close contact activities. In many ways they are the original self-isolating holiday. However, some areas are shared,  therefore, extra cleaning will take place regularly throughout each day, and there will be anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitisers for guest use. We would urge you to take extra care of yourselves and others in these areas.

As more government guidance emerges, we will update all guests on any additional safety and cleaning measures to be followed this season.

For now, please note the following:

  • Email us if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are in an at risk group, we are happy to move your holiday to another date*.  We are not able to offer refunds, as a safeguard to ensure that Glamping at Preston Court can continue to trade and safeguard our staff.

  • If you believe that you are vulnerable, or have regular close contact with anyone who is please consider carefully if this is the time for you to go on holiday. Remember we can move your booking to a later date.

  • You cannot self-isolate at Glamping at Preston Court for the safety of other guests, our team and our community.

  • Use common sense hygiene practice while here. Wash your hands and bin your tissues. We will, as always, keep the facilities scrupulously clean.

  • If you develop symptoms while on the site, please refrain from using the facilities. Please pack up and go home.  As soon as you are able, call the office on 07917131058, to notify us, so that we are able to carry out the necessary procedures at the site.  There is no need to report to NHS 111.  Do not go to a doctor, hospital or chemist, unless you are dangerously ill.

* If you are unable to travel due to suspected Coronavirus or are a high risk group, you will be able to move your booking to another time. We are offering credit notes valid for 18 months.  It is clear that our industry (and many others) will be seriously impacted by this situation and this will help to ensure that Glamping at Preston Court can remain sustainable over the coming months and that employees jobs are safe.

Distancing Measures.  Our Bell Tents have adequate space between them.  Please refrain from shaking hands with our staff or each other. Before your arrival day you will be emailed online check-in information.

Guest Co-operation

When visiting Preston Court, we would ask all our guests to take the following sensible Government Advice:

  • Washing hands regularly. Wash hands for at least 30 seconds and use an alcohol based hand sanitiser if soap and water is not available.

  • Maintain good hygiene practices such as using tissues when coughing or sneezing and disposing of the tissue in a bin.

  • Maintain a sensible distance from others

We would advise you to check the following websites for the most up-to-date information:

We are very much relying on our amazing customers to be understanding and supportive at this extremely worrying time for the domestic tourism industry. We are emerging from the winter period, during which time we have invested heavily in new facilities, services and infrastructure, and therefore, in normal circumstances, rely on the first part of the season as a way to recoup these costs.  We fully anticipate that our business, our staff and our industry as a whole is set to be hit incredibly hard and as such we are working out ways how we can continue to trade and stay sustainable over the coming months and beyond.  Some businesses will not survive. As such, we are hoping that our guests will work with us to make sure we and other Glamping sites in our position are able to survive this situation.  In real terms, this means we are relying on customers to accept our offer of a credit note.  We really do appreciate your support.
